I'm not very tech-savvy — is EverRoots really simple enough for me?
Yes — EverRoots is designed with grandparents in mind. Recording a story is one tap. Adding a recipe is just typing and taking a photo. If you can send a voice message on WhatsApp, you can use EverRoots.
How do I invite a grandparent who only uses WhatsApp?
Add them to the family tree first, then tap "Invite". You can share their invite link via WhatsApp, SMS, or email — whatever they use. They'll get a simple guided setup that takes under 3 minutes.
Is my family's data private and secure?
Your family data is end-to-end encrypted and never sold or shared. Only family members you invite can see your content. You own your data — always. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Is this safe for my kids to use?
Yes. EverRoots is a private, invitation-only family network — no public feeds, no strangers, no ads. Children access only the content their family chooses to share with them. Guardian controls are available for accounts linked to minors.
Can I use EverRoots offline?
Yes — the app is offline-first. You can browse your family tree, read stories, and compose new content without a connection. Everything syncs automatically when you're back online.
Can I use EverRoots to learn about ancestors I never met?
Absolutely. The family tree includes historical profiles, and any stories or documents shared by living relatives are searchable and linkable to ancestor profiles. Over time, your tree becomes a living archive of your whole lineage.
How long does it take to set up?
Your basic profile and first family tree members take about 5 minutes. Inviting family members takes another 2 minutes. The app is designed to grow gradually — there's no pressure to fill everything in at once.
Can I start even if I'm the only one using it?
Yes — many people start alone and invite family later. Recording your own stories, building the tree, and writing Forever Letters are all valuable solo activities. When relatives join, your contributions are already waiting for them.
What if a family member passes away — is their content preserved?
Yes. EverRoots has a Legacy Guardian system — trusted people who can manage a loved one's account after they pass. Their stories, voice notes, and Forever Letters remain accessible to the family forever, exactly as they left them.
Can multiple family members contribute from different countries?
Yes — EverRoots is global, with support for 15+ languages. Family members can contribute from anywhere in the world. Stories can be recorded in any language and tagged for translation. Distance is no barrier to family connection.
What happens to my data if I cancel my subscription?
Your content is never deleted when you cancel — your account moves to a read-only free tier. You can export all your data at any time from Settings → Export My Data. Reactivating your subscription restores full access immediately.
